About Us
What began as a journey has become something that has changed our lives.
Two brothers with a vision
We are Benny & Basty from Berlin and we are in love with the jungle, with the origin of our lives and with the nature that surrounds us! True to the motto "back to the roots", life led us for the first time to the jungle of South America in 2020. To people who have preserved their knowledge of plants, rituals and life in harmony with nature for generations. They shared with us ancient traditions, stories and wisdom that deeply touched us.
There we not only got to know impressive people, animals, plants and traditions, but also a different way of seeing, feeling and living. We want to share this feeling, with all its facets, with you.
Why We Founded Yomera
Many of these plants and traditions are little known outside their homeland, or are passed on without context, without connection, and without respect. With Yomera, we want to change exactly that!
We want to build a bridge. Between origin and everyday life. Between people, cultures and ways of life.
Not as intermediaries, but as a connection.
For us, YOMERA means more than just offering products. It means taking responsibility.
Through direct cooperation with our partners, we create
- fair sources of income for communities
- appreciation for traditional knowledge
- and a conscious use of the forest's resources
Our products come from wild harvesting or small-scale cultivation, in harmony with nature and the local people.
The Amazon is more than just a place
The Amazon is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. A living ecosystem that is home to not only countless plants, but also knowledge passed down through generations. For indigenous communities, the forest is not a raw material. It is home, teacher, and livelihood all at once. But this balance is threatened. Deforestation, economic pressure, and the loss of traditions are changing this space ever more rapidly.
Traditional Plants with Respect for their Origins
Behind each of our products are people. No anonymous supply chains, but real relationships.
Curanderos, Pajés, artisans, families and communities.
People who live and pass on their knowledge. People with whom we have spent time, from whom we have learned and with whom we are still connected today. These encounters are the core of YOMERA.
