Guayusa (Ilex guayusa) contains about 66–90 mg of caffeine per 240 ml infusion — depending on steeping time, amount, and quality of the leaves.

Guayusa contains not only caffeine but also L-theanine and theobromine — both integral components of the plant, known from green tea and cocoa.
